Paul has taught over 300 guitar students and teaches an average of 70 students a week. As a guitar teacher Paul uses his diverse musical experience to tailor individual lessons for students of all ages and abilities from complete beginners to more advanced guitarists.
Paul Andrews has been playing guitar for over thirteen years and teaching for seven. After completing his BA(Hons) in Music Production at the University of Kent he started teaching guitar at a Yamaha Music School in Canterbury, Kent where he has been trained to deliver group lessons using Yamaha’s unique methods and teaching techniques.
In 2008 Paul achieved Grade 8 Music Performance and in 2007 passed his Grade 8 Music Theory with distinction. Paul has written articles for Guitar Teacher, Play Guitar and Acoustic Guitar magazines and regularly contributes to GuitarNoise.com.
Paul is registered with the Registry of Guitar Tutors, is a licensed instrumental tutor with Kent County Council and has also been Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked.
Paul has taught in numerous schools over the years including Aylesham Primary, ST Christopher’s Primary, Petham Primary and Headcorn Primary. During the two years Paul spent at Headcorn he was involved in the Governments Wider Opportunities program delivering instrumental and vocal lessons to groups of up to fifteen students.
Currently Paul teaches from several locations throughout the week; his teaching studio in Ashford, 'Your Music School Canterbury' and Highworth Grammar School for Girls.
Paul is also busy preparing for his music teaching and performance diplomas to be sat next year and has just released a guitar tuition website OnlineGuitarAcademy.co.uk for which he is the web master and teacher, he is also the co-author of ‘Electric Guitar Playing’ a method book for beginner guitarists.
